I love Barack Obama's run for Presidency because it is so quintessentially American. His appearance on Oprah, the book out with the word "Hope", and cutesy spot for the NFL (or was it baseball?) would be laughed out of any country with a spot more cynicism. Instead of rolling our eyes, Americans see him as a viable candidate. I'm not being patronizing when I say it is an endearing quality of ours.

Nonetheless, I love this column because every paragraph is witty and more importantly, even realistic:

Mr. Obama is spectacularly underqualified to be President. He has been in the Senate for 25 months. There are probably craftsman repairing things in that building who have been there longer. The notion that being no more than an enthusiastic tourist in the American capital is the same thing as serving an apprenticeship to become the most powerful person on the planet is profoundly disturbing.
I'll leave aside how underqualified Bush was.
